Inserting lists into database

Hi,

This might be a bit difficult to explain. I have a website page which allows users to enter insect records into a database. They basically select the species from a drop down menu, add a number seen and click add to enter it. I would like to improve this by allowing the user to generate a list of species and then only clicking submit once and a routine loops round and adds the list to the database. Can anyone help me put some coding together to do this?
