PC Tools (Founded in 2003[1] – 2009), formerly known as WinGuides.com, is a software company headquartered in Australia with offices in the USA, UK, Ireland and Ukraine. It develops and distributes security and optimization software for the Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows platforms. There are over 200 employees. PC Tools has won nearly 100 separate awards for its products.

Acquisition by Symantec
On August 18, 2008, Symantec announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire PC Tools, but PC Tools will maintain separate operations.[2]
