History
Leeenux started as a personal modification of easypeasy. The goal was to free up space on the 4GB SSD that comes with the Asus Eee 4G Surf, also known as the 701G. By removing software such as the proprietary Picasa and Skype, KDE apps, QT libraries, Mono, and Sun Java, a significant amount of space was freed. Instead, default gnome apps were installed, and nearly 2GB of space was saved. After removing unused graphics and help documents, it came to be 1.7GB. After adding custom graphics, it became Leeenux 1.0. After removing drivers for nVidia and ATI as well as other unneeded software, the distribution (v1.1) came to 1.4GB when installed. 1.2 version has resolved bugs discovered in version 1.1. v1.3 had significant increase in performance and resolved bugs. v2.0 is a major release of Leeenux with improved appearance, less memory but more apps. It will not have sub-versions, but instead the team is working on v3.0.
